Today is October 31st, which we and our society know as Halloween. Maybe you love this day, but it sometimes makes me feel a little uncomfortable. I mean, pumpkins and gourds are so festive, and I absolutely love watching “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown,” each year at this time (I’m a Peanuts fan), but some of the other holiday decor and festivities bother my spirit.
Despite what we are surrounded with on this day, we should still be able to honor God. Someone once pointed out to me that no matter what may happen or how people act on Halloween, it is still the day the Lord has made, and we should rejoice and be glad in it! And what a true statement.
This Halloween day is no darker than any other day. It’s still the day that the LORD hath made, and it certainly was not made by anyone else! Even if it feels that this day is dedicated to wickedness, it’s just not. We don’t have to believe that! Today is a special day that we can embrace. God is with us today just like He is with us every day. No matter how dark any day or situation may become, if we ask God to stay alongside us, He will! And He will shed His light through us, too!
Enjoy this day the Lord hath made.

thanks for your thoughts Erika. I wish I had read this in the morning instead of at night.
Jason, thanks for your comment! It’s so good to read a comment!
Hey, I actually posted this in the afternoon. It looks like it says the evening on the time, but it’s way off.
